Before you connect

Open https://saveditapp.com/connect-ai for the official SavedIt app in ChatGPT and a ready-to-copy prompt.

Connect in ChatGPT

1. Open the setup page and choose Open SavedIt in ChatGPT to visit the official SavedIt listing.
2. Choose Install plugin if needed, then connect your SavedIt account when prompted.
3. Sign in to the same SavedIt account shown in your app’s Settings and review the requested access.
4. Choose Copy prompt on the setup page, then paste it into your ChatGPT conversation.

Other AI apps

Choose Claude or Cursor on the setup page. Manual instructions for every supported client are below. Custom connections depend on your AI plan and workspace permissions.

Read-only manual setup

To request read access, use https://mcp.saveditapp.com?scope=read as the server URL. Review the actual permissions during browser consent; the URL alone does not guarantee access restrictions.

Manual setup: ChatGPT

1. Enable developer mode in ChatGPT Open Settings → Security and login → Developer mode.
2. Create a SavedIt connection Open chatgpt.com/plugins → +. Name it SavedIt, paste the server URL, and create the connection. https://mcp.saveditapp.com
3. Sign in and approve access Sign in to your SavedIt account and approve access.
4. Select SavedIt in a new chat Select SavedIt from the chat tools menu. Official setup: https://developers.openai.com/apps-sdk/deploy/connect-chatgpt

Manual setup: Claude Code

1. Add the SavedIt MCP server to Claude Code Run this command to add the server. claude mcp add --scope project --transport http savedit "https://mcp.saveditapp.com"
2. Authenticate In Claude Code’s terminal, run /mcp → savedit → Authenticate. claude /mcp
3. Verify authentication Run /mcp again and confirm savedit shows as authenticated.

Manual setup: Cursor

1. Add the SavedIt MCP server to Cursor Merge this configuration into .cursor/mcp.json, keeping your other servers. { "mcpServers": { "savedit": { "url": "https://mcp.saveditapp.com" } } }
2. Authenticate Use a SavedIt tool and complete browser sign-in.
3. Verify authentication Confirm savedit shows tools in the MCP panel.

Manual setup: Claude Desktop

1. Add the SavedIt MCP server to Claude Desktop Open Customize → Connectors → + → Add custom connector. Paste the server URL and choose Add. https://mcp.saveditapp.com
2. Authenticate Choose Connect and sign in to SavedIt.

Manual setup: Codex

1. Add the SavedIt MCP server to Codex Run this command to add the server. codex mcp add savedit --url https://mcp.saveditapp.com
2. Authenticate Run the authentication command. codex mcp login savedit --scopes read,write
3. Verify authentication Run /mcp inside Codex to verify authentication.

Manual setup: Other MCP client

2. Authenticate Complete browser sign-in when your client asks.
3. Verify authentication Enable SavedIt tools in your chat.

Connect with an access key

1. Use browser sign-in for OAuth clients. Create a key only if your client requires manual credentials.
2. In the SavedIt mobile app, open Settings → Library → AI access keys. Web setup uses browser sign-in.
3. Choose Create access key and give it a name you will recognize.
4. Copy the key when it appears. SavedIt will not show the full key again.
5. Paste it only into the MCP client you want to connect. Never send it in a chat or support email.

Check the access it has

Read access can list and search your saves, open saved details, and browse your collections. Write access can also manage saves, manual collections, collection membership, and private collection sharing.

Review a request carefully before approving a delete or sharing action. The assistant acts on the same SavedIt library you use in the app.

Remove access when you are done

For an access key, open Settings → Library → AI access keys in the SavedIt mobile app, choose the key under Your keys, then select Revoke access. For a browser-authorized connection, remove SavedIt from the connected tools in your assistant. Revoking a key stops clients using it immediately.

If setup is interrupted or your library looks empty

If you cancel sign-in or consent, return to your AI client and start the connection again. If access expires, reconnect and select SavedIt in a new chat.

Check the SavedIt account you signed in with. An empty library or a save count alone does not identify the account. The setup page gives instructions; it does not check your connection status.
