Add SavedIt in Claude
The install link at the end of this section opens Claude’s Add custom connector window with SavedIt and its server address, https://mcp.saveditapp.com, already filled in.
- Sign in to claude.ai, then open Add SavedIt to Claude below.
- Choose Add, then Connect. Claude opens a SavedIt sign-in page.
- Sign in to the same SavedIt account shown in your app’s Settings, review the access, and choose Allow.
- Start a new chat and ask about your saves, for example: Find the recipe I saved last week. SavedIt also works in the Claude desktop and mobile apps signed in to the same Claude account.
Add SavedIt in Claude Code
- In your terminal, run: claude mcp add --transport http savedit https://mcp.saveditapp.com
- Start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose savedit, then choose Authenticate.
- Sign in to SavedIt in the browser window that opens and choose Allow.
What Claude can read
- List recent saves: shows your newest saves first.
- Count saved items: tells you how many saves you have without listing them.
- Search saved library: finds saves by topic, meaning, or a phrase you remember.
- Get a saved item: opens the full details of one save Claude already found.
- List collections: shows your collections, and shared collections you joined if you ask.
- List items in a collection: browses or searches inside one collection.
- List collection collaborators: shows who has access to a collection you own, including pending invites.
What Claude can change
- Save a URL: adds a link to your library, with a title, notes, tags, or a collection if you ask.
- Update a saved item: changes the title, notes, or tags on one of your saves.
- Create a collection: makes a new collection.
- Rename or describe a collection: changes a collection’s name or description.
- Add items to a collection: adds up to 100 of your saves to one of your collections.
- Remove items from a collection: takes up to 100 saves out of a collection. The saves stay in your library.
- Share a collection: invites up to 20 SavedIt usernames or email addresses as viewers or editors. People invited by email see the invite when they sign in to SavedIt with that address.
What Claude can delete
- Delete a save: moves one save to Recently deleted. You can restore it from Settings for 30 days.
- Delete a collection: removes one of your collections and its list of items. The saves stay in your library, but the collection cannot be restored.
- Revoke collection access: removes a collaborator or a pending invite from a collection you own.
What you agree to when you connect
The SavedIt consent page lists three kinds of access: read, write, and delete. Read lets Claude see your saves and collections. Write lets it add and change saves, collections, and sharing. Delete lets it remove saves, collections, and collection access. Deletion access is shown separately so you can review it.
Claude acts on the same library you use in the app and only on saves and collections your account can open. Read each request before you approve it, especially a delete or a share.
What you ask and what Claude reads from SavedIt is handled by Anthropic under your Claude plan and its privacy terms. SavedIt does not control how long Anthropic keeps it. See the SavedIt Privacy Policy for details.
Disconnect SavedIt
In the SavedIt app, open Settings → Connect your AI (in older versions, Settings → Library → AI access keys) and choose Disconnect next to Claude. Claude Code appears under its own name. This signs it out of SavedIt right away, on every device.
In Claude, open Settings → Connectors, choose SavedIt, and remove or disconnect it. In Claude Code, run: claude mcp remove savedit
If something goes wrong
- Claude cannot add the connector: your Claude plan or workspace may not allow custom connectors. On a team plan, ask the workspace owner.
- Sign-in stops or you choose Cancel: start the connection again from Claude’s connector settings.
- Claude says SavedIt needs more access: disconnect, connect again, and allow the access the consent page asks for.
- Your library looks empty or wrong: check that you signed in to the same SavedIt account shown in the app’s Settings.
- SavedIt stops responding after a while: your sign-in may have expired. Disconnect and connect again, then start a new chat.
- Still stuck: email contact.savedit@gmail.com with what you tried. Never send your password or an access key.
